Dear Green Glen Acres Homeowners,
It was brought to our attention that a letter dated December 12, 2013 was sent to multiple but selected
residents. The letter is authored by Chris Casias. On this letter he is soliciting information about the
vote they cast to renew the HOA Covenants.
Joe Casias, the father and property owner, has filed a lawsuit against the Green Glen Acres HOA because
the HOA did not approve his request to establish a "wedding venue/party hall" on lots 196 and 197
within Green Glen Acres. For purposes of open communication and further clarification the board
wants to make certain that information from both parties is transparent and clear.
Of note, the Plaintiff requested permission to operate a reception hall that was open 365 days a year,
would operate between 8:00 am and Midnight, would provide parking for up to 200 vehicles and allow
alcohol to be served and consumed on the premises. If you would like to see the Plaintiff's Original
Petition, it can be found at www.greenglenacres.corn.
If you are unable to access the web site, please Contact a board member and we will provide
you a copy.
Thank you and Happy Holidays.

From a GGA Resident -
FYI: My husband and I had noticed when we took walks in the morning that quite a few mailbox doors were hanging open from time to time. Last night as I was sitting in my back yard around 9:30-10:00pm I had notice a car stop at my neighbors mailbox thinking it was my neighbor getting their mail I did not react, the car then moved forward, lost view and heard it stop again. I then thought it was having car trouble. This morning as I took out the trash I saw my mailbox door open. Went to see and there was only a magazine in the mailbox that I order (forgot to get saturday's mail). Magazines don't have billing or account information that is not important to one who wants to steal our identity. I am thinking that there is someone stealing mail from our mailboxes because Westcreek subdivision just west of us off 1604/potranco has been having the same problem. (breaking into their neighborhood large mailboxes). Make sure you get your mail daily and do not leave mailout items over night. Be on the lookout.

Dear Green Glen Residents,
Last year it came to our attention that our subdivision was being serviced by at least 3 different waste disposal companies. As the board was looking at ways to solve the challenges with road repairs, we concluded that having multiple waste disposal companies drive large trucks weighing over 10 tons on our roads several days a week is only exacerbating the damage to our roads.
Currently, there are 2 waste disposal companies running their trucks on the roads 3 days a week (twice weekly trash pick-up and once weekly recycling) and a 3rd company running their trucks on our roads one day a week. This is an extremely high number of large trash trucks to have driving our roads each week.
We looked into bargaining with the trash companies for a competitive rate for service that included weekly trash pick-up, recycling and annual curbside bulk removal. To our dismay, only one trash company bothered themselves with providing a proposal. That proposal was contingent upon the HOA paying the bill for all the residents and increasing HOA dues to cover the expense.
Recently we decided to approach the waste disposal companies again. After learning the HOA was not in a position to sign a contract for the entire subdivision, only one waste management company responded. Metro Waste Systems listened to our concerns regarding the frequency of the large trucks on our roads, the desire of many of our residents to have recycling and our community’s need for curbside bulk removal. Metro Waste responded with a proposal that not only meets the needs of our community, but is also competitive.
Metro’s proposal slims down their trash removal service to one day a week, provides recycling removal one day a week and provides for one annual bulk curbside trash removal once there are 100 Green Glen Acres customers using their service. There are currently over 30 GGA residents using Metro Waste.
For those already using Metro Waste as your provider, you would need to call and switch to this plan. Once they have 100 GGA customers signed up for this plan, they will work with our HOA board to schedule the bulk waste curbside removal.
Additionally, if the majority, or all, of our residents use Metro Waste the HOA Board can negotiate and use HOA funds for an additional curbside bulk removal another time during the year. This would be a wonderful option given the drought and associated burn ban.
Please find the attached proposal. If you have questions, please contact Brandy Anderson at (830) 538-9765 and she will be glad to assist you.
